Jose Luis Rodriguez ‘El Puma’ has clarified the health status of his friend, fellow singer Julio Iglesias, after he was said to be ‘in a wheelchair’.
It was journalist Jorge Rial who on July 13 during the show “Argenzuela” stated that the 79-year-old singer supposedly has “motor problems” and “memory”.
Actress Génesis Rodríguez’s father said that “a famous person with the nickname animal, a close friend of Julio’s,” had reportedly gone to Julio Iglesias’ mansion and realized “that where Julio is sitting is a wheelchair, no it’s a common chair. Although Real did not identify the famous man, some media identified him as Jose Luis Rodriguez “El Puma”.

Following these statements, José Luis Rodríguez ‘El Puma’ posted a video on Instagram explaining what Julio Iglesias is really like.
“For those interested in the health of Julio Iglesias: we have been in touch and let me tell you he is fine, very fine, looking forward to it. He told me his tour starts in November. It’s perfect in his brain, in his body,” he condemned on July 18.
Rodriguez shared his wishes for his friend: “God wants us to have him for a long time,” and then asked that he be respected for his outstanding artistic career.
“I think the path of Julio Iglesias should be really respected, he is the most important Spanish singer of our generation. A man of six languages, over 100 million records sold, so that should be respected, I think,” he said on camera.
The interpreter of “Gulpable soy yo” denied the version about his supposed visit to Iglesias: “And the person who said that I said this, that Julio was sick, is completely false,” “El Puma” initially condemned.
“Well guys, that’s it. I hope this lie, this lie, is fully clarified and I hope these lies are not repeated to attract attention,” he said at the end of his video.
Previously, on July 13, Jose Luis Rodriguez spoke about what Rial said to the ABC newspaper. “I would never speak ill of Julio, much less his private life,” she said at the time.
His son Julio Iglesias spoke about the singer’s health
According to a report by El Periódico, days before “El Puma” clarified the situation for the first time, Julio Jose, the son of Julio Iglesias, had already spoken about the singer’s health.
“My father is wonderful. He is very arrogant and always sells an image of a seductive man who does not accept the passage of time. He’s 78 years old, he’s had a very busy life, and understandably he’s kind of emotional,” he shared.
So far, Julio Iglesias has not personally commented on the state of his health or the reports of Jorge Real.
