“Thank you for being eternal”: the heartbreaking farewell words of the family of Silvia Pinal

The Pinal matriarchy offered moving words to Silvia Pinal at the posthumous tribute paid to her this morning, November 30, at the Palace of Fine Arts in Mexico City.

Sylvia Pasquel: “Fly Up, Dear Mother”

The late actress’ first-born daughter was the first to take to the microphone to thank the expressions of affection and, visibly affected and almost unable to speak, said:

“Today we gather here to say goodbye to the greatest diva this country has ever given, for the entire Mexican public it is a loss, but for us her family is abandoning our beloved mother.”

“Beautiful mother, God is celebrating because one of his most beloved daughters is returning to his arms. Fly high as you always did dear mother“, he concluded.

Alejandra Guzmán: “Thank you for being eternal”

In tears, the singer shared that they were present during her mother’s final moments.

“For me it is an honor to be able to feel the love of all Mexico and the whole world. We were all together when she passed, when she breathed her last, for me it is something she gave to the whole family. She left so peaceful and so calm that she deserved to rest.

“Mom, I miss you, I love you, I respect you, I need you, but I carry you here in my heart. Thank you for everything you taught me, thank you for being eternal“.

Michelle Salas: “A woman ahead of her time”

With a broken voice, Michelle Salas, great-granddaughter of ‘La Diva del Cine de Oro’, dedicated a touching speech to her, as they were very close.

“My great-grandmother was much more than a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. A woman ahead of her timea woman who fought for her family and all women. “His legacy is infinite,” she said.

“Grandma, I know you look at me from a place of peace, knowing you have fulfilled your purpose, I let you go with gratitude and fulfillment (…) Every time I look at the sky, I will look for your light to tell me “be well , little one” thank you for being my guide and biggest inspiration.

Stephanie Salas: “You taught us to be brave women”

The actress was the first granddaughter of Silvia Pinal and shared that in her childhood she did not understand why autographs were being asked for from her grandmother.

“Over time I realized that my grandmother was not only mine, she was part of her audience and that it was beautiful to understand that, that it was wonderful to be able to share Silvia with all her audience, with her friends, with everyone the people who loved her.”

“Thank you so much grandma, why you taught us to be brave women, and your son too (…) Thank you for bringing us to life, I appreciate the last breath I had with you, your aura, everyone by your side, I will miss you very much.”

Camila Valero: “The most generous person”

The youngest daughter of Stephanie Salas also dedicated a few words to her great-grandmother.

“I told her I always get asked what advice do you have for this career, so what is it? and he tells me “study your character, study art”. She took her job seriously, she took it with dedication. I hope I can catch up with my great grandmother, she was the most generous person I have ever met“.

“I will never forget that ‘I love you’ we gave each other and the last handshake, I love you and we will always carry you in our hearts.”
