Netflix has announced the start of filming and shared photos and a video of the cast of the third season of “Bridgerton”. In the images, the team celebrates the sequence of the new episode by making the number 3 with their hands.
Filming will take place in London under the care of new showrunner Jess Brownell. And in addition to the already known cast, the production will contain three new features: Daniel Francis (“Once Upon a Time”), Sam Phillips (“The Crown”) and James Phoon (“Wreck”), who will live characters to make women sigh of the plot.
After adapting “The Duke and I”, the first book of the literary saga, centered on Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor), the eldest daughter of the Bridgerton family, and “The Viscount Who Loved Me”, in which the prom more eligible season is Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), season 3 will focus on “The Secrets of Colin Bridgerton”, the fourth book.
The plot deals with the relationship between Colin (Luke Newton) and Penelope (Nicola Coughlan).
The change makes sense in the context of the series, as their relationship developed more in the first two seasons than Benedict’s (Luke Thompson) arc, which is at the heart of the third book, “A Perfect Knight.” Also, in the final episode of the second season, Penelope heard Colin say he would never marry her, a classic romantic storyline.
With that, “A Perfect Knight” is expected to stay for season 4.
The differences between the books and the series produced by Shonda Rhimes began with the casting of actors of different character races, which even led to a change of surname of the female protagonist of the 2nd season – the blonde Kate Sheffield became the Indian. Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley). But the changes went beyond ethnicity in the adaptation of “O Visconde que Me Amava,” which changed the context of an important scene: the literary motif responsible for the central couple’s marriage.
Despite the changes, the second year of production broke the audience record for premiere chapters and was the season of the most viewed English series in Netflix’s catalog for two months (until it was surpassed by “Stranger Things 4 “).
