Regarding the recent trial, he commented: It is very difficult to lose weight. I have a sweets business, I’m a chocolate addict. Putting on weight is child’s play, gaining weight to play Rubens Paiva was child’s play. It was difficult to lose to Chicó in a month and a half. I lost 15kg in two months.”

When asked by Astrid Fontenelle how he managed to lose weight, Selton Mello replied: “I closed my mouth and cried. I cried hard into my pillow. That’s all, guys. It’s very hard, but it has to be. So much so that in O Car [da Compadecida] 2 I notice that I start the film and start to lose weight. Anyone who looks at it won’t notice, but I will.”

Differences between Selton Mello in O Auto from Compadecida 1 and 2

“THE Himself [da Compadecida] 1 I did this at a time in my life when I was 25, now I’m 51. In fact, I don’t recommend it, because it hurt me a lot!”, recalled the actor.

He continued: “I was taking stuff from trendy doctors, it wasn’t good for me. I was addicted to it for years, took that stuff, lost weight for the next movie, gained weight my whole life, then lost weight. .. It made my head hurt a lot, it even drove me into a state of depression.”

Selton Mello also stressed that he accepted the differences of his character in the two films: “The Chicó of now, when I tried to lose weight, there was a moment where I said: ‘Wow, I can’t be that.’ But I’m not going to be that. It wasn’t even in my nature, I was on drugs and I was 25.”
