Jay-Z has hit back after being accused of allegedly sexually abusing, along with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, a 13-year-old girl.
On December 8, Page Six announced that a woman, going by the pseudonym “Jane Doe,” filed a civil lawsuit over the alleged assault, which allegedly occurred when she was a minor.
According to the complaint documents, she accuses both artists of assaulting her during a party after the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.
The events would take place on September 7 that year, at a residence in New York, where they allegedly offered a drink to the plaintiff, who then felt “dizzy” and “restless.”
In order to lie down for a while, they say, the then-teenager chose to enter a room, where the musicians entered shortly afterwards.
She claims that there Jay-Z stripped her, held her down and raped her while Combs and an unidentified female celebrity watched.
Sean then allegedly assaulted her while Beyoncé’s husband and the other celebrity involved looked on.
The young woman reportedly managed to avoid fellatio on the ‘I’ll Miss You’ singer by punching him in the neck, which caused him to stop.
Eventually, it appears she took her clothes and left the scene. He managed to get to a gas station, from where he called his father.
Jay-Z denies the accusation
Almost immediately, Jay-Z publicly responded to the accusation, via a statement posted on the X (formerly Twitter) account of his label, Roc Nation.
In his writing, he described the complaint as an “extortion attempt” by Tony Buzbee, Jane Doe’s attorney, and claimed he won’t pay him “one red penny.”
“These charges are so egregious that I’m begging you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil complaint,” he stated bluntly.
“Anyone who commits such a crime against a minor should be jailed, don’t you think? “These alleged victims would deserve real justice if this were to happen,” he added.
The businessman indicated that he wants to show Buzbee how different he is, defending that he has “very strict codes and honor”.
Jay-Z involves Beyoncé and her kids
Shawn Corey Carter, the rapper’s real name, confessed that “the only thing” that “hurts” him in this situation “is because of my family.”
The producer has also been married to Beyoncé since 2008 and they share children Blue Ivy (12), Rumi and Sir (7).
“My wife and I will have to talk to our children, one of whom is at an age where his friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these allegations and explain to them the cruelty and greed of people”. he said.
In response, Buzbee released a statement to People: “The allegations speak for themselves. “This is a very serious matter that will be heard in court.”
