The judge of the Court of First Instance of San Juan, Anthony Cuevas, granted on the afternoon of December 27 four days, until the 31st of the same month, for the legal representation of the still wife of Daddy Yankee, Mireddys González and her sister. Ayeicha González law, please provide the required documents.
The defense of Raymond Ayala Rodríguez, the singer’s given name, this morning requested an urgent hearing held in the afternoon via video conference, for “contempt of the agreed”, after the González sisters did not appear at the first hearing meeting.
Cuevas decided to extend the deadline for a voluntary exchange of information between the two parties, for access to the electronic accounts they share, the accounting of the entities and other documents and materials.
“We need everything to be handed over,” the artist’s lawyer Carlos Díaz Olivo said on the conference call, and another of Daddy Yankee’s lawyers stressed that all the documents must be handed over because so far what they have received is public.
For her part, the defendants’ lawyer, Pilar B. Pérez, assured that she will provide all the required information and the González sisters will resign in writing from their positions in the companies.
Daddy Yankee calls for “contempt” again.
The artist’s defense presented a new urgent motion for repeated contempt on the evening of December 27, which the EFE had access to, after completing the urgent hearing on Friday afternoon, which was held after a motion for contempt they made the same day in the morning Daddy Yankee’s lawyers, because the defendants allegedly did not attend a meeting agreed to by both parties.
In this second proposal, they urged the legal representation of the González brothers to send the resignation of both of them from all their corporate positions and to grant the singer digital access to said entities.
According to the lawyers of Raymond Ayala Rodríguez, the singer’s first name, the defendants complied and sent their resignation letter, but the documents they presented were not what was required because “it has nothing to do with corporate access and requirements.”
“In short, the Court’s order was not fully complied with,” Daddy Yankee’s defense said.
“For all these reasons, it is respectfully requested that the Honorable Court take cognizance of the above and declare this application admissible,” the court appeal settled.
Papa Yankee and the Gonzalez sisters agreed on Dec. 19 that the artist would become “the sole officer and representative” of the two companies, following an in-person meeting at the San Juan Judicial Center.
Likewise, they found that $75 million would “go untouched for 30 days.”
