This Wednesday afternoon, January 1, 2025, the news of the death of the legendary Argentinian singer and songwriter Leo Dan was announced.
In a statement via Instagram, it was reported that “this morning” the 82-year-old artist “left his body alone”.
Previously, on December 31, a video was broadcast on the composer’s social network on New Year’s Eve, which has become the last message he sent to his fans.
“Thank you so much for joining me in 2024. Many blessings to all!”
What did Leo Dan die of?
The official message about Leo Dan’s death did not reveal the reason he died.
However, entertainment journalist Carlo Uriel revealed via X, ex-Twitter, details of what would have happened.
“The family informs me verbatim [él] “He died sleeping and peacefully, surrounded by his wife and loved ones,” he said in a post.
Likewise, the communicator shared the ailments the ‘I Have Promised’ interpreter was dealing with, as explained by his relatives.
“At the same time, they confirm that Leo suffered from diabetes and hypertension, which led to a deterioration in his health for several years,” he explained.
In the previous months, Leopoldo Dante Tevez, the real name of the expressor of the romantic ballad, was on his farewell tour, “The Goodbye of a Legend”.
Leo Dan shared that he wasn’t “feeling good”
In August, during a phone interview on the “Viva la radio” program, Leo Dan admitted that his situation was not the best, explaining why he had not planned a concert in his hometown of Santiago del Estero, Argentina.
“I really didn’t feel well. I mean, they had to do so many things to recover, I was like anemic, I don’t know what,” he expressed.
Without giving exact dates or specifying a medical diagnosis, he revealed that he was hospitalized for “two months.”
“They have to do a puncture because my liver sometimes doesn’t respond to so much alcohol that I was given in my youth. Thank God I’m fine,” he said to wrap up the matter.
