The Minister of Culture, Margareth Menezesand the singer Daniela Mercurio has made impactful statements in defense of religions of African origin following the controversy surrounding them Claudia Leitte. The speeches of the minister and the singer took place during the Pôr do Som event, created by Danielawhich celebrated 25 years last Wednesday (1st), in Salvador.

Margherita pizza drew attention to the history of persecution suffered by the Afro-Brazilian people, underlining the importance of rethinking the attitude towards religions of African origin. “It is important to look at the history of this Afro-Brazilian people, this culture, so many persecutions, since the times of slavery.
