Joan Plowright, the famous British actress who starred with Sayan in the hit film “Baila Conmigo,” has died at the age of 95.
It was his loved ones who broke the news in a statement published by the Guardian this Friday morning.
They said the artist “passed away peacefully on January 16, surrounded by her family” at Denville Hall, a care home for people who have worked in the theater industry.
“She enjoyed a long and illustrious career in theatre, film and television spanning nearly seven decades, until blindness forced her retirement,” they noted.
“He enjoyed his last ten years in Sussex, with constant visits from friends and family, filled with lots of laughter and fond memories,” they added.
In May 2014, West End Theater Portal reported that Plowright had completely lost his sight due to age-related macular degeneration, which began in 2000.

Many years before he said goodbye to acting, he shared a set with Chayanne in the movie ‘Baila Conmigo’, which premiered in 1998.
In the plot, Joan plays ‘Bea Johnson’, an elderly woman who takes classes at the dance studio run by ‘Rafael Infante’, played by the Puerto Rican.
They both starred in a tender scene in which they dance during a competition in Las Vegas and he ends up embracing her to applause from the audience.

Joan Plowright was born on October 28, 1929 in Brigg, Lincolnshire (England). He was the second of three children of Daisy Margaret Burton and William Ernest Ploughright.
She always wanted to be an actress and made her stage debut in 1948, in Croydon, in a ‘play’ called ‘If Four Walls Told’, and then joined the Old Vic theater group.
Throughout her career she participated in shows such as ‘The entertainer’, ‘A taste of honey’, ‘Santa Juana’, ‘Uncle Vanya’, ‘The merchant of Venice’, among many others.
In the cinema he participated in the productions ‘Enchanted Abril’, ‘I love you to death’, ‘Tea with Mussolini’, ‘Equus’ and ‘The diary of Anne Frank’, to name a few.
From 1953 to 1960, she was married to actor Roger Gage, whom she allegedly cheated on with Laurence Olivier, whom she married in 1961.
He has a son, director Richard Olivier, and two daughters, actresses Tamsin Olivier and Julie Kate Olivier, as well as several grandchildren.
