Ashton Kutcher first spoke to a wide audience about the serious health problems that he had a couple of years ago. The revelations came from a clip from the new edition of National Geographic’s show, “Running Wild with Bear Grylls: The Challenge,” published by Access Hollywood. In this program, host Bear Grylls teaches some celebrity how to survive in the wild in each new episode and gives them various tests.
As it turned out, doctors discovered vasculitis in the 44-year-old Hollywood actor, a rare autoimmune disease that causes inflammation of the blood vessels, and this, in turn, restricts blood flow. This can lead to damage to organs and tissues, the possible consequences of which can be loss of vision, hearing and the ability to walk.

Two years ago, I had this strange, very rare form of vasculitis that knocked out my vision, knocked out my hearing, knocked out my entire motor apparatus. It took me a year to recover,” Ashton said in a conversation with the presenter. You don’t realize it until it’s gone. Until you say, “I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to see again, I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to hear again, I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to walk again.” I’m lucky to be alive.
Having experienced this, Ashton is now confident that now nothing can stop him on the way to his goal and that he has begun to truly appreciate life:
The minute you start seeing obstacles as something that can give you what you need, then life starts to be fun, right? Then you seem to be surfing over your problems instead of living under them,” he concluded.
The full version of the program will be aired today, August 8.

Recall that Ashton Kutcher has been happily married to Mila Kunis for 10 years. Their relationship began in 2012, two years later in February, the couple announced their engagement. In the same year, 2014, Kunis gave birth to a daughter, Wyatt Isabelle Kutcher. And on November 30, 2016, Mila and Ashton became parents for the second time – the couple had a son, Dimitri. Recently, the couple and their children moved into a new house in Los Angeles with an area of 24,000 square meters, which was built for five years.
The couple lead a closed lifestyle, almost never appear at social events, preferring to spend all their free time at home with their children. Only occasionally do they get into the lenses of the paparazzi during a walk. Last September, they were guests at the opening of the Lawrence J. Ellison Institute in Los Angeles, which engages scientists to study cancer and possible ways to prevent, detect, and treat cancer. And in March of this year, the lovers shone on the red carpet of the Oscars.
