Yudi Tamashiro’s uncle speaks of earthquake and tsunami

The earthquake was recorded on the eastern coast of Russia on Tuesday evening (29), with a size of 8.8, generated seismic waves and notices of tsunami in various Pacific countries, including Japan, Hawaii, California, Chile and Peru. According to the geological authorities, the tremor was the strongest from the 2011 disaster in Japan and led to over 110 secondary tremors in the following hours, with magnitudes ranging from 4.4 to 6.9.

The epicenter of the earthquake was recorded near the Kamtchatka peninsula in the Russian territory. In the region, waves were detected up to 5 meters. In response, countries such as Ecuador, Mexico and the United States have activated emergency protocols. Peru, for example, said a state of warning through the coast, providing for waves between 1 and 3 meters. Hawaii have already recorded tsunami of 1.74 meters, but later they suspended evacuations because it believed that the risk of larger waves had decreased.

In Japan, the warning has reached in particular the northern coastal regions, such as Hokkaido, where there was a wave prediction of up to 3 meters. The population was oriented to host in high areas. In Tokyo, the impact was lower, with waves of waves of about 1 meter. Even so, the climate of the tension was evident among the residents, including the Brazilians who live in the country.

The presenter Yudi Tamashiro, 32, expressed concern for social networks by sharing his uncle’s relationships, which resides in Tokyo. According to the publication, the family member sought refuge on the third floor of the building in which he lives, pending the release of the authorities to go down. “We are on the third floor waiting for the release to go down. We are on the alert of tsunami.”

Even according to Yudi, “in Tokyo the forecast is waves up to 1 meter. Where it is, he had to climb me on the third floor, everyone follows on alert. But more calm. Already in Hokkaido, the situation is more worrying.”

The tension also extends to other countries. In Chile, the sirens were shot in Iquique and other coastal cities, starting the evacuation of the population. Meanwhile, on the Galapagos islands, the local government has led to the preventive retreat of residents of the risk areas, strengthening surveillance on the effects of the phenomenon on the southern Pacific.

In the middle of the emergency, the Brazilian Hanay Kawakami, who lives in Kakegawa, reported the use of the Bosai Musen speaker system to notify the population. “Here in Japan there are public emergency speakers through the road and the neighborhood, named Bosai Musen, a system that Japan uses to communicate such things, natural tragedies, disappeared people, fire warnings, among others.”

The episode rekindles the warnings on the intense seismic activity in the so spark of the Pacific Fire Circle, a region that concentrates about 450 active volcanoes and is responsible for frequent earthquakes of great size. According to local authorities, so far there is no register of victims, but material damage is still being evaluated.
