Justin Timberlake has a serious illness

Justin Timberlake revealed on Thursday (31 July) that Lyme’s disease was diagnosed, a bacterial condition transmitted by infected ticks. The announcement occurred after the criticisms of its recent theatrical performance, marked by less vocal and physical intensity. The American singer has chosen to publicly clarify the health problems he was facing since the beginning of his tour.

Lyme’s disease is more common in the northern hemisphere and can generate serious complications if not treated correctly. Symptoms include muscle and joint pain, fatigue, fever, skin lesions and even neurological and heart disorders. In the United States, where Timberlake lies, the cases are more frequent, unlike Brazil, where the infection is considered rare.

The “forget tomorrow” tour, which began in April 2024 shortly after the release of everything I thought was an album, ran over 41 cities and collected about $ 73.2 million. During the performances, the artist reported recurring episodes of intense pain and extreme tiredness, which led to medical investigations that led to the diagnosis of the disease.

As reported, the impact of the diagnosis was immediate: “When I received the diagnosis for the first time, I was really shocked. But at least, I was able to understand why I got on the stage feeling intense nervous pain or absurd fatigue and discomfort”.

Given the painting, Timberlake took into consideration the cancellation of the remaining performances of the tour, but decided to continue: “I decided that the joy that gives me on the stage exceeds, by far the passage stress that my body was feeling. And I am very happy to have continued”.

The singer also commented on the difficulty of sharing his health conditions with the public. “I was reluctant to talk about it because I was created to keep something like that for myself, but I’m trying to be more transparent about my struggles so that they are not misunderstood.”

At another point, he strengthened the personal character of the affirmation: “I do not say that I sorrow for me, but to shed light on what I faced behind the scenes. If you had this illness or you know someone you had, then you know: living it can be incessantly debilitating and physically.”

Finally, Timberlake expressed gratitude to the public and expressed the hope of helping to understand the condition: “By sharing all this with the hope that we can all find a way to be more connected. I would like to do my part to help the others who are going through this disease”.
