The black singer Gil died on July 20, due to colon cancer -around the age of 50

“A month of desire,” wrote the singer, together with an old photo with a still small black.
He also mentioned his daughter in his first return show after the death of Preta, before singing Darm. Accompanied by José Gil and Bem Gil, he said, on the song: “The times when I played this song lately, I sang for her. In recent years, always for her. One of the girls at home, our dear black.”
“This song was created for her mother,” added the singer.
Currently, Gil is on his Tour King King, who will cross Argentina and Chile. The series of shows celebrates his 60th career and will extend until 2026.
Before farewell, announced as definitive, Gil still performs in several Brazilian cities in 2025. In September, he passes through Porto Alegre (6/9); In October, by Sao Paulo (17 and 18/10) and Rio de Janeiro (25 and 26/10); and, in November, of Fortaleza (15 and 16/11) and Recife (22, 23 and 28/11). The capital Bahiana, Salvador, ends the Brazilian soil tour on December 20th.

The singer died on July 20 in New York, in the United States. He had faced colon cancer -around from 2023, which was why he was looking for the country in search of alternative treatment methods.
After the death of Preta Gil, his body was brought to Brazil. A trail was held in his honor on the following Friday 25, at the Municipal Theater, in Rio.
The tribute was open to the public and had intimate friends, such as actress Carolina Dieckmann and singer Ivete Sangalo, as well as fans and family members, as her son Francisco Gil.
After the trail, the singer’s body was cremated. There were two masses of the seventh day in his honor: one in Salvador, Saturday 26, and another in Rio de Janeiro, Monday 28.
