Cocoa Show announces the closure and surprises customers

Cocoa Show has decided to put an end to the activities of one of its units located within the Hypermarket Carrefour, in Paulo Faccini Avenue, in Guarulhos (SP). The measure was taken after complaints that involved the marketing of expired products without health products.

The shop was even banned for a maximum of 30 days in 2023, as released by the DO Comércio portal.

At the time, an operation by Procon Guarulhos seized various products, including Mouss with chocolate and chocolate powder with expired expiry date, as well as adequate labeling cakes and articles stored incorrectly.

The case continued to reverberate among consumers, even two years after the accident.

The complaint came from the consumer

The inspection was motivated by a complaint filed by a customer who reported that he had found foods on display on the shelves and on the shop counter. During the inspection, the inspectors identified that the employees of the unit were aware of the irregularities, but the direct guide of the owner of the franchise continued.

At the time, the coordinator of Procon Guarulhos, Vera Tulher, declared:

“The most serious is that the owner has imposed the sale of improper goods for consumption to employees. Cases like this are inadmissible and endanger the health of the population.”

Corporate positioning

In response to the event, the cocoa show declared, through a declaration, which terminated the contract with the franchisee in August 2023, as soon as he was aware of the facts.

The company stressed that it maintains a strong commitment to health rules and said that she was collaborating with the authorities in the investigation.

Brand initiatives in itu

In the meantime, the company maintains actions aimed at the training of young people. Through the Inspire Jovem Project, Cocoa Show has announced the opening of over 800 vacancies for adolescents of the public schools of ITU (SP).

Participants will be able to develop skills on topics such as entrepreneurship, culture, environment and customer service, with activities carried out in the school contract in the Fama Museum.

In addition, young people will be able to integrate the company’s apprenticeship advice in the future, in particular focusing on Cocoa Park, the themed park expected to be inaugurated in 2027 in the city.
