Rawene Schumann, 74, who acted in Soap Opera Globo in the 70s, was located by the civil police in precarious conditions in his apartment in Porto Alegre. The case occurred on Wednesday (3), when the agents accompanied a protector of animals after complaints on possible abuses on pets on site.
The police found the elderly woman with signs of dementia and having nothing to eat, while their four dogs and two cats had to eat. Rejane’s identification as a former actress took place a few hours after the initial rescue.
The artist built a career on Brazilian television, participating in productions such as “or Astro” (1970), “Dancin ‘Days” (1978) and “Pai Hero” (1979). In addition to being an actress, he also worked as a writer and journalist.
Deise Falci, head of the rescue of animals, reported the situation found in the apartment. “When we arrived there, that it was more abuse, it was the lady herself that animals. He was very hungry, the animals had a ration, but he had nothing. The refrigerator was completely empty, there was nothing,” he said.
According to information obtained on site, Rejane Schumann lived alone with his animals and had not performed personal hygiene for months. Pets, although they had access to water and food, were confined to property for a long time.
