Jennifer Aniston responds to criticism for not having children: ’20 years of trying to start a family’

The actress underwent IVF treatment

Jennifer Aniston spoke out about rumors that she chose not to be a mother to prioritize her acting career and said she spent 20 years trying to get pregnant.

In 2022, she had already spoken about the topic and revealed that she had undergone IVF (in vitro fertilization) treatment.

“People didn’t know my story, or what I had been through for the last 20 years trying to start a family, because I didn’t go around telling people about my health problems. It’s nobody’s business. But there comes a point where you can’t ignore it anymore,” she said Harper’s Bazaar British.

The actress said the rumors affected her and that she decided to speak out about the issue three years ago because she knew other women who were going through the same situation as her. “I felt like it wasn’t just for me, but for any woman who was going through the same problem.”

While still hurt by the false narrative, Jennifer doesn’t feel the need to always correct the rumors.

“The news cycle moves so fast. Of course, sometimes I feel this sense of righteousness, when they say something that’s not true and I want to correct it. But then I think: do I really need this? My family knows my truth, my friends know my truth,” he concluded.
