Investigations reveal that João Paulo Manoel used conversations on social networks to show his private parts to minors




João Paulo Manoel, 45 years old, known as Captain Hunter, was arrested this Wednesday (22) in Santo André, Greater Sao Paulo. According to investigations, he used conversations on social networks to show his private parts to minors, as well as demanding payment from the victims.

The YouTuber produces content about characters from the “Pokémon” series and related products, such as trading cards, games, events and stuffed animals.

On YouTube alone his channel has more than 726 thousand subscribers. Among the topics aimed at children and teenagers there are: “Opening 144 mega evolution packs of Pokémon cards” and “I went to the Pokémon world championship”.

In September he made a video showing his earnings on YouTube, which amounted to around R$4,000 a month.

“Hunter is not rich, I still pay for my stuff. Just so you don’t understand that it’s not easy. I still do it because not only have I created my brand, but I can also sell products. I have to earn money through other means too. I can’t live on what YouTube pays me,” he said.

In addition, it fulfilled a program of events. In September it was in two shopping centers in Rio de Janeiro and at the beginning of the month in Sao Paulo. In total, he has more than 1 million followers on social media.

Arrest warrants have been served against the YouTuber for the crimes of rape of a vulnerable person and production of child pornography. Police officers also executed search and seizure warrants and breached confidential data. All seized electronic devices will be subjected to inspection.

The investigation was opened by the Police Station for Childhood and Adolescent Victims (Dcav) of Rio de Janeiro and the temporary arrest was ordered by the judge of the Court specializing in crimes against children and adolescents in the city.
