Actors Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore from “A Mom as a Friend”) and Vincent Kartheiser (Pete Campbell from “Mad Men”) are divorcing after eight years of marriage.
Kartheiser stepped into the roles on August 10, his team confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter’s website.
The two stars, who have always kept their relationship discreet, married in 2014 and had a child the following year.
They met in 2012 on the set of “Mad Men”, the Emmy winning series in which Kartheiser played the mean Campbell. Bledel had a small cameo as Beth Dawes, lover of the character of her future husband in three episodes of the fifth season.
Last May, the actress announced that she would be stepping away from “The Handmaid’s Tale,” an Emmy-winning series. She did not give any reasons, only explaining that the decision was made “after much thought”.
The actress also did not comment on the news of the divorce.
Kartheiser, on the other hand, had problems behind the scenes of his recent participation as the villain Scarecrow in the 3rd season of the “Titans” series. He has been investigated more than once for inappropriate behavior by Warner.
The first time would have been motivated by comments and outbursts of anger during the recording, which took place in Toronto, Canada. At the time, the firm’s human resources concluded that Kartheiser’s actions were correctable, but did not justify the dismissal. Even so, he was officially reprimanded.
The second reprimand came weeks later, in the final stretch of the recording. At the time, the studio decided to hire a person to personally monitor Kartheiser’s behavior on set.
