Controversy on and off TV! Huck’s outburst about the Rio operation becomes the target of a massacre on the web; check what happened
Last weekend, presenter Luciano Huck used the last space of his program on Globo to comment on the recent mega police operation that took place in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
Several police officers entered some compounds located in the north of the capital of Rio, and the intervention against the Vermelho Command resulted in more than 120 deaths and several injuries in the community.
For this reason, Angélica’s husband told what happened before delivering the program. Sunday for Fantastic. “I’m from São Paulo, a good part of my family lives in São Paulo, but I’ve lived in this city for 25 years. And it’s sad to see the same model of public safety repeated for decades without any results”, declared.
“It is necessary to fight drug trafficking with all our strength, it is necessary to coordinate actions between all levels of power, municipal, state and federal. It is necessary to valorise the police and law enforcement agencies. But more is needed: it is necessary to generate opportunities, to give perspective to those born in these parts of the city of Rio de Janeiro. To offer good references, to open paths, to show that there are other possible futures”he spoke.
What was the public reaction?
On social media, the vast majority of the public at home did not agree with the communicator’s statements and shortly afterwards criticized the artist, leaving him the target of a series of harsh attacks on the web.
“Armored car, right, security at the door, kids with security guards, building secured. Come on, sit there and tell me hahaha”mocked a person.
“I find it very easy to talk, when walking safely. I live in RJ and the workers, we pray to return to our home”, posted another on Instagram.
“Bring some survivors to your home and help them stay safe,” another joked.
However, others agreed with Huck. “Guys, he didn’t take a position either for or against. What he said was about the need to change at the base… invest in education so that similar situations don’t happen again in the future. Crime must be fought at the root, and this starts with opportunities and education. Inject it at the base”, he pointed to a person.
