Singer Britney Spears has decided to open her heart and tell what has happened in recent years in a 22-minute audio that was posted on YouTube this weekend.
In the spontaneous declaration, the 40-year-old artist denounced the various “abuses” that she claims to have suffered by her family, in more than a decade she has been subjected to guardianship, without being able to decide anything about her life.
“When I woke up this morning, I realized there are a lot of things going through my head that I haven’t shared with anyone,” Spears says emotionally during the recording.
“I don’t gain anything from sharing this,” he stressed. “I’ve been offered interviews with Oprah and a lot of people for a lot of money, but it’s crazy. I don’t want any of that. For me, that’s a lot more than just sitting down and doing an interview,” he said.
“They killed me, literally. They threw me in the trash. I felt like my family had thrown me in the trash. I played for thousands of people at night in Vegas, with the anxiety of being an artist, with laughter. , with respect … it was a machine. It was a machine, it was almost not human. It was crazy, “he complains.
Britney says she was forced to stay in a psychiatric clinic in 2019 after criticizing a dance move during a rehearsal. Meanwhile, the family enjoyed a stay in their beach house.
In the audio, he describes that he had no privacy inside the clinic, being forced to change in front of other people and undergo “harsh” therapeutic techniques.
“They were brainwashed to make me feel like I need them,” she says. “‘If you don’t do what you’re asked, we’ll show you who’s the boss here,'” she recalls.
She claimed that her phone was being monitored and, therefore, she felt insecure about asking for help.
“While all this was happening, my mother witnessed it, my brother, my friends … they all accepted it.” She pointed out that no member of her family defended her from her when she was placed under her father’s tutelage in 2007 after suffering a nervous breakdown.
“How did they get away with it? (…) I share this because I want people to know that I am human. I feel like a victim after these circumstances and how can I heal if I don’t speak true?” The end.
Since regaining her freedom in court late last year, Spears has married her boyfriend Sam Asghari and has returned to music. Her first recording since leaving school, a collaboration with Elton John called “Hold Me Closer”, was released last Friday (8/26).
