The singer celebrated her best Latin video award for “Envolver” at the after party when she starred in a funny moment
A video of singer Anitta at the ballad in which she celebrated her unprecedented award at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) went viral on social media showing a curious scene. In the images, the funkeira appears holding a glass and, for some reason, he freezes for a few seconds and then makes a funny expression with his face.
Anitta won the “Best Latin Video” category with the megahit “Envolver”, sung in Spanish. This was the first time that a Brazilian artist had won an award at the VMAs and also the first time that a Brazilian had performed on the main awards stage.
The singer celebrated the victory in a ballad in the United States together with her boyfriend, Murda Beatz, entrepreneur Carina Liberato, makeup artist Hector Espinal and friend J Balvin.

On Twitter, many fans joked about the situation. “I wanted to be in Anitta’s situation right now: drunk, hot, rich and award-winning,” joked one Twitter user. Comedian Whindersson Nunes also intervened and wrote: “This is how your statue looks at Madame Tussauds when the museum closes.”
In Instagram Stories, the next morning, Anitta confirmed she was bewildered after the awards. She said she didn’t believe she was going to win in the category and that she didn’t even throw an after party. “I swear to God it took me by surprise. I also said I was coming home from the prize to sleep. I was so baffled that I’m here drunk awake even now,” she said.
