The D23 Expo, an event for Disney fans (and Marvel, Pixar, Lucasfilm, 20th Century Studios, Disney Parks, Marvel Games, National Geographic, etc.), begins this Friday (9/9) in Disneyland California with a celebration special of the company’s centenary.
The occasion begins with a grand anniversary celebration, commercially christened Disney100, which will last until October 2023, when Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, the embryo of The Walt Disney Company, officially completes its 100th anniversary.

With the centenary in the background, the anticipation for this year’s event has become particularly high. Therefore, several public electrifying project revelations are expected to make 2023 a full year of studio party.
Initial information suggests that the announcements made by Marvel last month at Comic-Con International were just an appetizer. In the advanced press schedule, D23 has scheduled extra panels related to Marvel productions, including a celebration of Spider-Man’s 60th birthday.
To broaden the reach of these announcements, the D23 Expo will be broadcast live on the web and social networks. Also on the program tributes to the new Disney Legends, including Chadwick Boseman, interpreter of Tchalla / Black Panther at Marvel. The actor, who scored Marvel fans for the role of T’Challa, died at just 43, in August 2020, of cancer.
The title of “Disney Legend” is awarded annually to “individuals who have made an outstanding contribution” to the company’s legacy.
