According to The Guardian, the coffin with the body of Queen Elizabeth II will be in the Cathedral of St. Giles in Edinburgh for 24 hours (after the relatives say goodbye to her at Balmoral Castle – they say that in three days). Everyone can enter the church and pay their respects. A service will also be held in the cathedral.
Then the body will be transported to the capital – there the British will be able to visit the Palace of Westminster, where the queen’s coffin will be located, to say goodbye to her. She will then be buried in the memorial chapel of her father, King George VI, on the grounds of Windsor Castle. Later, the remains of her husband, Prince Philip, will also be transferred there.
The Queen’s state funeral will take place at Westminster Abbey 10 days after her death.
As the BBC writes, in the coming days in the UK, the television and radio broadcasting grid will be changed, flags will be flown at half-mast and church bells will sound, and Parliament will take the oath to the new king.
