Millie Bobby Brown Opens Up About Sexualization in Hollywood: ‘It’s Disgusting’

The actress has just come of age, but she’s been over this sexualization for a while

Recently Millie Bobby Brown gave an interview to the podcast “The Guilty Feminist“, in which she opened up about the frequent sexualization she suffered as a teenager and criticized how this is common in the Hollywood universe.

“It’s disgusting. My experience is a good representation of what’s going on around the world, of how very young girls are already seen in a sexualized way. I’ve been dealing with it recently, yes, but I’ve also been dealing with it for years.”vents the actress.

Known as Eleven on “Stranger Things”, Millie turned 18 on February 19 and realized that this sexualization has gotten worse: “I think in the last few weeks it has only gotten worse. I’m seeing a difference in the way people act around me, and in the way the press and social media react to me.”

Incidentally, it is worth remembering that in the first season of the successful series of the streaming giant, the actress was only 12 years old. Now the long-awaited 4th season of the production takes place on May 27. It even won an epic final trailer.

Finally, she also talks about what the life of an 18-year-old adult is like: “I’m trying to navigate the responsibilities of being an adult. Browse relationships and friendships, all that stuff. I also have a desire to be appreciated and to adjust, to get to know myself better. It’s a lot at once.”
