The rapper and stylist appeared without “warning” and if he was “invited” to the corporate establishment of the company
Shoe maker Skechers USA Inc. on Wednesday said its executives escorted singer Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, out of a Los Angeles corporate office after the rapper and stylist “showed up unannounced and uninvited.” .
The company “has no plans to work with West,” a statement read.
Skechers’ comments come the day after sportswear brand Adidas AG ended its partnership with West, following a series of anti-Semitic comments from the artist.
“We condemn your recent divisive comments and do not condone anti-Semitism or any other form of hate speech,” Skechers said.
THE Reuters was unable to immediately contact Ye’s reps for comment.
Apparel company Gap Inc, which ended its partnership with West in September, is also taking immediate steps to remove Yeezy Gap products from its stores and close YeezyGap.com.
Shares of California-based Skechers were up nearly 1% on extended trading after closing nearly 10% on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, the company expected current quarter sales below Wall Street estimates after missing third quarter profit expectations, hampered by higher operating costs and the impact of currency exchange rates.
