In addition to marking Lindsay Lohan’s return to romantic comedies, the film “A Christmas Crush” also saves the musical career of the actress, who is releasing a new recording of the Christmas classic “Jingle Bell Rock” as a single to accompany the release.

It is not the first time that the song, which is part of the soundtrack of the new film, appears in the career of the actress. One of the most famous moments of “Mean Girls” involves a sexy choreography of the protagonists – Lohan among them – to the sound of this same song. In the 2004 film, the recording fails in the middle of the performance and she, faced with the impasse, she starts singing her famous lyrics.

“A Christmas Crush” stars Lohan as a spoiled hotel heiress who suffers a ski fall on a mountain during the Christmas holidays and is left with total amnesia. With nowhere else to go, she agrees to spend her healing at the inn of the man who saved her, a heartthrob landlord (Glee’s Chord Overstreet) who lives with her precocious daughter. The two bond almost instantly, even though she clearly demonstrates a past of luxury. But when the romance starts to heat up, her memory starts to come back too, and with it her old suitor.

The film is directed by Janeen Damian, producer and screenwriter of “The Prince and I,” who also co-wrote the screenplay with Jeff Bonnett, Ron Oliver and Michael Damian. They all worked on several Hallmark Christmas TV movies.

The first is scheduled for November 10th.

Below is an excerpt from the single, the scene from “Mean Girls” and the announcement of the release, made on the Netflix social networks.
