Shakira wins custody of children after divorce from Gerard Pique

As reported today by the newspapers El Pais, El Periódico and La Vanguardia, Shakira and Gerard Pique, in the presence of lawyers, held 12-hour negotiations, as a result of which they managed to resolve their main conflict and decide where and with whom their common children will live – 9- year-old Milan and 7-year-old Sasha. The meeting took place at Shakira’s house, and, according to insiders, lasted all night, but when exactly is not reported.

We finished and signed everything, and reached an agreement on both sides, – Shakira’s lawyer said Ramon Tamborero.

Shakira and Pique agreed that the singer would take the boys to Miami. Until the end of the year, Milan and Sasha will live in their father’s homeland, on an estate on the outskirts of Barcelona, ​​but after the New Year holidays, Shakira will take the children away. This will not prevent the football player from seeing the children – he will be able to come to the United States whenever he wants, and the cost of the flight will be paid from the joint accounts of the former couple. Such a decision was certainly not easy for the ex-football player. However, according to lawyers, both parties were satisfied with the result.

Recall that the breakup between Shakira and Gerard Pique became known on June 1 – a number of Spanish media reported that the reason for the separation of the couple was the betrayal of the football player. Three days later, the separation was confirmed by Shakira herself. It is worth noting that in addition to the divorce proceedings (and in fact only determining the place of residence of the children, since the ex-lovers were not officially married), the singer is going through litigation regarding non-payment of taxes.

However, troubles on the personal and business front do not prevent Shakira from composing and releasing new songs – at the end of October she presented a new song about unhappy love and a video clip for it. Gerard Pique also announced his retirement last week and left his native football club Barcelona.
