Former League of Legends professional player Gabriel Bohm dos Santos, known as “Kami”, has admitted to the paternity of xenophobic comments against the Northeasterns, exposed on social media. After the disclosure of the audios, recorded without consent by Gabriel’s ex-boyfriend, Gustavo Rodrigues, the player was indefinitely removed from the paiN, the organization he represented.

In one of the audios, recorded during the poll counting of the second round of the elections, Gabriel calls the North-Easterners “donkeys”.

“I don’t understand, the Northeast is the poorest region, it has only misery and votes for Lula. He had 14 years of Lula and is still in poverty, in misery, and is still voting for Lula,” said the former gamer, who insists on insults: “These Northeastern fools vote for Lula.”

This Wednesday, 9, paiN Gaming released a statement announcing the player’s indefinite removal from his duties with the organization. Gabriel acted as an influencer with the sponsors.

After the controversy, ‘Kami’ opened a live to explain his point of view on the incident and justify that, despite being xenophobic, the comment was made in the context of a joke.
