Actress shared post with ‘incentive’ for PT supporters to place party star in front of establishments
A former member of the government of Jair Bolsonaro (PL), Regina Duarte has joined an infamous tactic used by the Nazis to attack the voters of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). The actress shared a post on her Instagram with an “incentive” for PT members and people who voted for Lula to put a PT star in front of their establishments so they can be identified.
At the same time, Bolsonarist groups circulate lists of establishments of PT sympathizers to be boycotted by patriots and good citizens of Brazil.
In the early 1930s, the Nazis began identifying Jewish establishments with the design of a star, the Star of David, as well as issuing notices in Germany so that patriots and good citizens would not buy or use services from establishments marked .
Over time, this attitude of Germany progressed mainly towards the destruction of these establishments by violence and, subsequently, the incarceration and mass murder of Jews in concentration camps. An estimated 5 million were exterminated in the Nazi genocide, which became known as the Holocaust in history books.
It should be a lesson not to be forgotten and repeated. However, the tactic is spread on Bolsonarist social networks with the same goal of discrimination.
Regina Duarte was special secretary for culture in the Bolsonaro government and remained a loyal supporter of him during the electoral campaign. On social media, she continues to share fake news, ignore Instagram tags and blocks and support anti-democratic demonstrations for a coup d’état in the country.
Anti-democratic demonstrations shocked Brazil by reproducing Nazi gestures, photographed among supporters of the defeated candidate, despite the refusal of those concerned to admit this intention. Even the period of the 2nd round of the recent presidential elections brought to light some worrying facts, linked to Nazism, involving Brazilian students.
Last October, the police arrested a group of young people accused of neo-Nazism in Santa Catarina, with whom Nazi flags and firearms were found. They have been involved in spreading hate messages against minorities and attacks against Lula voters.
