Singer Anitta is celebrating another feat in her career. This Tuesday (11/15), she was nominated for a Grammy, the highest award in US music.
And it was not in a Latin artist category, but as the best new artist, the so-called “revelation” of the year. He will have to face completely different bands, such as the Italian rock band MÃ¥neskin and the British indie band Wet Leg.
He celebrated the nomination on social media, assuming a mixture of anticipation and surprise about the nomination.
“Wow! Never in my life would I have imagined this moment would come. I’m from Brazil, folks,” she wrote, in English. “Speechless. Thank you… forever grateful. With the nomination, the singer becomes only the fourth woman in the country to compete for the Grammy, now in its 65th edition.
The event announcing the winners is scheduled for February 5 in Los Angeles.
The last few months have been of international consecration for Anitta.
He has already won MTV’s VMAs (Video Music Awards) and EMAs (Europe Music Awards) for Best Latin Artist and competes again in two Latin Grammy categories for the hit “Envolver”, contending for Record of the Year and Best Reggaeton Performance Thursday (11/17), plus two other categories at the 2022 NRJ Music Awards, a French award taking place a day later, and the Favorite Latin Artist trophy at the American Music Awards, scheduled for November 23.
