The show that will mark Elton John’s farewell to the stage will be broadcast live to Disney+ subscribers this Sunday (11/20), starting at 11:30pm (Brasilia time). The platform has released a poster and trailer for the event, which you can see below.
The show will take place at Dodger Stadium, a baseball stadium in Los Angeles, USA, where, 47 years ago, Elton John gave one of his most iconic performances, consolidating his international success.
In addition to the singer, the show will feature a few special appearances. The advanced list includes Dua Lipa (with whom Elton recorded “Cold Heart” in 2021), Kiki Dee (partner on 1976’s “Don’t Go Break My Heart”) and Brandi Carlile (from “Caroline” in 2009 and “Simple Things” in 2021).
“Feeling the energy of top fans, not just back at Dodger Stadium, but this time from around the world, from those watching live from their homes, will be something very special to me,” the singer said in a statement. Note. “I am thrilled to celebrate this special night with the world. I hope everyone feels the power and joy of performing on such an iconic stage as Dodger Stadium. As I did nearly 50 years ago.”
The show will be recorded for the production of the documentary “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road: The Final Elton John Performances and The Years That Made His Legend”, about the career of the artist, who intends to retire from the stage after this presentation.
