The actor discovered that he has a genetic predisposition to the disease while filming his new series
The interpreter of the Norse god Thor, Chris hemsworth discovered while recording his new series, Without Limitspublished by National Geographic and available at disney+who have a genetic predisposition to the diagnosis Alzheimers – degenerative disease that causes the deterioration of cognitive and neurological systems.
In an interview with the American magazine vanity fairthe star said the plan was for him to know all the results regarding the medical tests he’s had to perform in front of the cameras and how he could get better, but that’s not what happened.
“Peter Atita, who is the longevity doctor in that episode and oversees much of the show, called Darren Aronofsky [criador do programa] and said, “I don’t want to tell him on camera.” He was very shocking because he called me and told me.”
Married with Elsa Pataki and father of three, the actor said there were cases in the family, with his grandfather and also said the documentary gained new meaning after the discovery.
“The series, which was initially an exploration of longevity and obviously meant to be entertaining, became even more relevant and important to me, even more moving than I ever thought possible. It was a really nice catalyst for me to immerse myself in all of that. I needed to do in prevention. It’s not a predeterministic gene, but it’s a strong indication,” she said.
