Actor Oh Yeong-su, known for his role in the South Korean series ‘Round 6’, was indicted on Thursday (11/24) on sexual misconduct charges in South Korea, according to local reports and Agence France -Press.

Yeong-su, who won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Oh Il-nam, the game’s elderly contestant, was accused of inappropriately touching a woman’s body.

The case is old – the abuse allegedly took place five years ago – and was already dropped earlier this year, but has been reopened due to the victim’s appeal, according to local reports.

In a statement to local channel JTBC, the actor gave his version: “I just held her hand to guide her down the path around a lake. I apologized, but that doesn’t mean I admit the allegations.”

AFP news agency also quoted a Suwon court official as saying that “everything reported by the local media is actually not correct.”

Oh Yeong-su has been acting for over 50 years, mostly in theater and local productions. His role in ‘Round 6’ earned him worldwide fame and recognition.

The first season of ‘Round 6’ broke ratings records, becoming the most watched Netflix series of all time. The attraction will win a second season soon, but Oh Yeong-su will not be a part of this production due to the outcome of her character in the original storyline.
