There, as healthy as we see him, the actor discovered that he has two samples of the APOE4 gene, a genetic load that favors Alzheimer’s, a disease that has already been present in his family. Neither Hemsworth nor anyone else is safe from illness or tragedy.
That is also precisely what the last chapter of the miniseries puts to the test, where the documentary asks how to teach Hemsworth, 39, the beauty of growing old and reaching the end of the journey. As it is much more difficult to accept the goodbye and the physical decline of loved ones than one’s own, that’s where his wife arrived. The National Geographic production added prosthetics and makeup, according to them, 50 years to the Spanish actress. Who knows, maybe he’ll keep the prosthetics like Hemsworth kept her penile prosthesis in her living room…
We have to say that this hairstyle subtracts years and that a person of 96 (Pataky is 46) has a permanent in Spain, China or Australia, but hey, we admit it. The important thing is that Hemsworth was saved from a good one with his reaction to the surprise of his wife. The actress, of course, was somewhat afraid that her husband, already younger than her, would see her looking like that. Hemsworth, however, kissed her, told her that she was beautiful and, ultimately, demonstrated part of the reasons that have made her duet with Pataky one of the most iron marriages of any star.
With the desire, not just not to grow old, but to travel all the way there together, they say goodbye. And then we realize that, despite discovering that his life is not perfect and that we all fear limits, death and the inexorable passage of time, Chris Hemsworth still has a life to envy. And that without remembering the hammers of Thor that he keeps in his house…
