Even though we thought it was impossible, NCIS: Origins, the latest spin-off of the NCIS: Special Investigations franchise, just met a never-before-seen special agents mission: an impromptu visit from Tom Cruise!
Tom Cruise on the set of NCIS: Origins
The 63-year-old actor actually went to the set of the police series, which recalls the youth of special agent Jethro Gibbs.
“While at the studios, Tom Cruise stopped by the set of NCIS: Origins to say hi!,” posted NCISVerse, the franchise’s official Instagram account.

Obviously, this surprise visit doesn’t mean the actor will appear in Season 2. Tom Cruise actually maintains a close relationship with Paramount, the studio behind Mission: Impossible and Top Gun. However, the story did not say why the actor was at the studios this Wednesday.
The NCIS: Origins bar is inspired by Top Gun
David J. North, the NCIS: Origins showrunner, took the opportunity to reveal a little anecdote about the detective series.
“As we kick off a new season of Origins, it was great to have @tomcruise join us yesterday and support our series and the entire @ncisverse universe.– he wrote in an Instagram post.
“@ginalucita and I were inspired by the Top Gun bar to introduce our own bar, Daly’s. So we were excited that he approved it lol. Thanks for the advice and support, Tom.”

Airing from October 2024 on CBS, NCIS: Origins is the sixth series of the NCIS franchise. A prequel to the mother fiction, it takes us to 1991 and returns to the beginnings of Leroy Jethro Gibbs, played for the occasion by Austin Stowell, upon his arrival at the Naval Investigative Service (NIS).
The detective series has already been renewed for Season 2, which began airing on October 7 in the United States.
