The resemblance of 7-year-old Princess Charlotte, daughter of Prince William and Kate Middleton, with Elizabeth II has been talked about since the birth of the girl. But soon they will have in common not only facial features and love for dogs, but also points in the biography. As it became known, the current King Charles III is going to grant his granddaughter the title of Duchess of Edinburgh. This title was held by the young Elizabeth II before becoming Queen in 1952.

Discussions are underway, but it is already clear that this title should go to Princess Charlotte. It is a fitting way for His Majesty to honor the memory of the Queen, who of course was the Duchess of Edinburgh, and thus highlight the line of succession.
It is interesting what the decision of Charles III is after several months of misunderstandings with his younger brother Edward – it was he who was supposed to become Earl of Edinburgh after the death of his father, Prince Philip. As for Charlotte, she is now fourth in line to the throne – after her grandfather, the current reigning king, father – Prince William and older brother George. This order will change when George marries and has children of his own – they will move Charlotte and her younger brother Prince Louis to the throne.
