Actress Gina Romand has died after being hospitalized for several days

Gina Romand has died today December 3 at the age of 84, his son, theater producer Gabriel Varela, confirmed this morning. The Cuban star had been hospitalized for a few days for one pneumoniaEl Universal newspaper reported.

“With all my pain, I say goodbye to my mother, Gina Romand, who always lit up my life, now rests in peace illuminating the sky with her eternal glow. I will always miss you and love you forever. Calm down, blonde of my class,” Varela wrote on Twitter.

Gina’s daughter also said goodbye to her mother through social networks: “Beautiful mom, fly high! You fought like adults until the end, you are my light, my guide, my strength. Life will be very difficult without you, “I love you mom, thank you for so much. I am left with the joy of your life, for the love of life that you always had,” she wrote on Instagram.

He added: Thank you mom, for being my pillar, now you are my angel. I love you mom always together. My class blonde, the blonde everyone wants. I love you to infinity, my beloved person. I love you very much, so I’m saying goodbye to you like we’ve always said goodbye. Go with God my beautiful queen.’

On November 26, Gabriel Varela tweeted that his mother was torn “between life and death” and thanked her for her “prayers and well wishes”.

Who was Gina Romand?

Georgina García y Tamargo, better known as Gina Romand, was born on February 15, 1938 in Havana, Cuba. He left the island to seek opportunities in Mexico, the country where he built his artistic career.

He made his film debut and shared the stage with great actors such as Silvia Pinal, Mauricio Garcés, Javier Solís, Luis Aguilar, Angélica María, María Félix, Mario Moreno “Cantinflas”, among other celebrities from the Golden Cinema.

Some of the films for which he is remembered are: “Fray Don Juan”, “I am very macho”, “Campeón de barrio”, “The Five Haks”, “My hero”, “La bandida” and “Gavilán o dove ». ”, to name just a few.

He participated in successful telenovelas such as: “Maximiliano y Carlota”, “El maleficio”, “Valeria y Maximiliano”, “Perla”, “Amor en custody”, among others. In the theater he also left a great legacy such as the play “Mom and Dad’s Things”.

In 1966 she married theater producer Salvador Varela, with whom she had three children: Gabriel, Georgina and Francisco, the latter died on August 15, 2001 at the age of 33, in a car accident.

Gina Romand was left a widow on August 9, 2020 when her husband Salvador Valera died at the age of 92.
