The singer was rushed to the municipal hospital of Lourenço Jorge, but could not resist. The manager of the artist, Claudio Malagueta said so Stadium that, feeling ill, Renatinho asked to be taken to the nearest hospital during the show.
He spent the night in hospital, underwent medical tests on Thursday morning and was transferred to the National Institute of Cardiology for tests in the afternoon.
“It is with great regret that we communicate the death of the singer Renatinho, lead singer of the BokaLoka group, this afternoon, following cardiogenic shock due to an acute myocardial infarction. Renatinho was admitted to the Lourenço Jorge hospital and was transferred to the Institute National of Cardiology, in Rio de Janeiro, to undergo a procedure to identify coronary artery blockage. His death was confirmed at 5:38 pm today. The samba community is in mourning and at this time we ask for a lot of prayers and strength to the artist’s family, friends and fans,” the statement read.
