Anzac Day is a national holiday in Australia and New Zealand that commemorates fallen soldiers in World War I. This is a day of remembrance for the soldiers of the Anzac, the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC), who died during the landing of the Entente forces on April 25, 1915. In 2021, Princess Anne and her husband Timothy Lawrence took part in the traditional flower-laying ceremony, but this Monday, April 25, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the ceremony.
This afternoon, Prince William, dressed in a formal dark blue suit with decorations, visited the Cenotaph War Memorial, London, where, before the start of the service, he solemnly laid a wreath on behalf of Her Majesty. Later, already in Westminster Abbey, his wife Kate Middleton joined him at the memorial service. For the event, the Duchess of Cambridge chose a cream coat dress by her favorite brand Alexander McQueen with a statement collar, a matching headband, black pointy pumps and pearl earrings for the event.
