The day before, excerpts from the long-awaited memoirs of the 38-year-old Duke of Sussex, entitled “Spare”, appeared in the press. In the book, Harry details his relationship with every member of the British royal family, including stepmother Camilla Parker-Bowles, now Queen Consort Camilla. According to the prince, almost immediately after his move to the United States, Camilla converted Harry’s bedroom into a personal wardrobe. Years later, the prince admitted that this fact hurt him greatly.
I tried to ignore it. But I didn’t care. Especially when I first saw it.

It is noteworthy that a similar situation is described in Tina Brown’s bestselling book “Palace Papers: Inside the Windsor Dynasty, Truth and Fiction” – however, it mentions Harry’s bedroom in the country residence of King Charles III Highgrove House, and not in the palace. Curiously, images of Camilla are usually not so widely discussed in the press than the entrances of Kate Middleton or Meghan Markle, although she has a fairly large wardrobe that probably needs a separate room.
In another excerpt released to the press, Harry claims that he begged his father not to marry Camille. In the text, he calls her “the other woman.”
Despite the fact that Willy and I urged him not to do it, dad went ahead. We shook hands with him and wished him all the best. No hard feelings. We realized that he would finally be with the woman he had always loved.
No matter how hard Charles tries to win over his sons to the new chosen one, Harry still compares the first meeting with Camilla with a “drug injection”.
Close your eyes and you won’t even feel it,” he described his feelings. – I remember asking questions: “Will she be cruel to me?” and “Will she look like the evil stepmothers from fairy tales?”. Willy, too, had been suspicious of the Other Woman for a long time, which confused and tormented him. When these suspicions were confirmed, he felt an agonizing remorse for not doing or saying anything sooner.
Note that in the excerpts of memoirs that came to the disposal of journalists, Harry also talks in detail about the first sex, bad habits and relationships between William and Kate, as well as about his father’s “sadistic” jokes and his attempts to come to terms with Diana’s death.
Prince Harry’s memoir “Spare” will go on sale January 10th.
