In the new book, Prince Harry discussed his mother, Princess Diana’s alleged affair with Major James Hewitt. The Duke claims that King Charles III regularly chuckled and made “sadistic” jokes about his youngest son’s “real” parentage. The prince writes that his father seemed to enjoy making hurtful comments about this.
Dad loved to tell stories, and it was one of the best in his repertoire. He always ended with a bout of philosophizing… He laughed non-stop, although it was an extremely unfunny joke, given the rumor circulating at the time that my real father was one of my mother’s former lovers — Major James Hewitt. One reason for this rumor was Major Hewitt’s fiery red hair, but another reason was sadism.

Harry also talked about how, immediately after his birth in 1984, King Charles III told Princess Diana that his work was “finished”. According to an excerpt from the book leaked to The Guardian, the Duke of Sussex writes that his father celebrated the birth of his second heir with the following words:
Now you’ve given me an heir and a fallback – my job is done.
In addition, Prince Harry claims that Charles warned him that the royal family “does not have enough money” to financially support Prince’s wife Meghan Markle. According to the duke, Charles said that he “already has to pay a lot” for the maintenance of his eldest son and his wife, the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Dad did not provide financial support to Willy, me and our families out of any kind of generosity. It was his job. That was the whole deal.
The Prince’s memoir, titled Spare, will be released on January 10, 2023.
