Justice has not recognized the request for a stable union between chef Thiago Salvatico and the presenter, who disappeared in November 2019
Chef Thiago Salvático has to appeal against the Court’s decision which names the presenter Gugu Liberato as his “friend”, without recognizing a stable union between the two. Gugu died in November 2019, and since then Salvatico has tried to prove that he has a romantic relationship with the presenter.
Judge José Walter Chacon Cardoso understood that the relationship between the two was “clandestine”, and defined that it could be considered a “friendship”. An extract from the sentence filed at the Court of Justice of São Paulo on 15 December 2022, released on Monday 16 by the editorialist of the IG Gabriel Perline, indicates that the relationship would have taken place “in secret”. “(…) In absolute respect of the privacy of the deceased, but also without the knowledge of the relatives of Antônio Augusto (Gugu)”, reads the excerpt.
Therefore, it would not be possible to consider the relationship as a stable union. Nonetheless, Salvático said he would appeal the decision and indicated that the judge’s interpretation was allegedly homophobic.
“This decision was given by the judge without even going through the process, without even hearing family, witnesses, etc. And, certainly, it would not be given like this if it were a heterosexual case,” Thiago told the Additional newspaper.
“I will appeal to the Court. I still believe in Justice, and it is not possible to find this bias in the Judiciary in 2023”, he added. The chef said he dated Gugu Liberato for eight years.
