Single is seen as an oblique reference to the singer’s ex-husband
Recently, Miley Cyrus presented the audience with a new single. Flowers was launched last week and continues to occupy the top positions on audio and video platforms. However, what has caught the eye are the passages they hint at Liam Hemsworthformer husband of the artist.
In the first part of the song, Miley sings, “We were right until we were” and “We built a house and watched it burn,” recalling the couple’s home fire in 2018.
In another point, the singer points out that “she didn’t want to leave him” and that “she started crying”. In the refrain, the eternal hanna montana she points out that she can “buy herself flowers”, “go out dancing with herself”, “talk to herself” and concludes by saying that she can “love better than you”, in a possible reference to her ex.
According to the information published by the online radarsMiley tried talking to Liam in November of last year ahead of the song’s release to try and build a new friendship.
However, the attempts were unsuccessful, as the actor does not want any contact with her. Also according to sources on the site, the singer bought a house worth $8 million near where Hemsworth lives.
The couple remained together for more than a decade, but the wedding took place in late 2018. In August 2019, they filed for divorce and the process only ended in 2020.
