THE TIME! now it carries a roster of duos, trios and even bands formed by people from the same family. Let’s start with the Jackson 5.

The Jackson 5 was formed in 1964 by Michael Jackson and four of his brothers. The group later had different formations, but always with brothers. The last shows were in 2013. Michael Jackson died in 2009, in a solo career. He is one of the most accomplished and famous artists of all time.

In Brazil, the Fat Family group has existed since 1996 and has had several formations. But one thing is certain: always from the same family. They are from Sorocaba (SP) and they sing pop.
-
The brothers José Lima Sobrinho (Chitãozinho) and Durval de Lima (Xororó) are one of the greatest country duos in history, with millions of CDs sold. I have been on the road since 1969 without interruption.

Xororó, incidentally, is the father of Sandy and Júnior, who were very successful in the 90s and early 2000s.
-
Sandy, incidentally, has been married since 2008 to musician Lucas Lima. He, in turn, has a group with family members. The Lima family has been traveling since 1994.

In Brazil, by the way, several sertaneja duets are or were made by brothers. Zezé di Camargo and Luciano, for example, have been together since 1991, without interruption. Their real names are Mirosmar and Welson David.
-
In the 1970s, Zezé teamed up with another brother, Emival. However, he died in 1975 and of course the duo was dissolved. Zezé (photo) spent some years in a solo career and others in collaboration with her friend Zazá (Areosmar).

Sertanejo also has many female duets. The Galvão sisters (Meire and Marilene) have been active for nearly 75 years: 1947-2021. Last year, Marilene, the youngest, died at 80.
-
Paulistas are considered one of the forerunners of female sertaneja duets. Maiara and Maraisa, who are very successful today, have been together since 1993.
-
For a long time they competed with Simone and Simaria as the leading “femineja” duo in Brazil. UibaÃ’s Baianas had a resounding success from 2012 to 2022, when the duo broke up due to the latter’s personal problems. Today Simone has a solo career, while Simaria has devoted herself more to her family and her health.

The KLB trio is formed by the brothers Franco (better known as Kiko), Leandro and Bruno Scornovacca. They started in 2000 and soon “blew up”. Since 2011 they have gotten back together and have broken up a few times, and that is how they are today.
-
In the United States there is the Jonas Brothers trio, formed by brothers Nick, Joe and Kevin. The band was formed in 2005, disbanded in 2013 and has been active again for four years.
-
More recently, the brothers Gabriela, Diogo and Rodrigo Melim have formed one of the most listened to groups in Brazil. I’m from Niterói (RJ) and have been traveling since 2015. The difference, then, is that it’s not three men.

ABBA is a Swedish group that has had worldwide success since 1972, but with a hiatus from 1982 to 2018. The name is an acronym of the members’ names. There were two couples, who split in the 80s, but have maintained their union.
-
The Bee Gees were a pop band, formed in Brisbane, Australia by British brothers Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb. The active periods were three: 1958-1983; 1987-2003 and from 2009 to 2012.
-
The band Haim is formed by three American sisters: Este, Danielle and Alana Haim. They have been touring since 2007 without interruption and sing indie and Jewish music.
-
Interestingly, also in Australia, a band of British brothers, but from Scotland, AC/DC was founded. Angus and Malcom Young (d. 2017) formed the group in 1973. It still exists, but with a different lineup. Angus follows.
-
The band OASIS, which existed from 1991 to 2009 and was very successful among rockers, metalheads and pop fans, had the brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher in the lead. They were vocal and tambourine; guitarist and backing vocalist respectively. The band, it’s worth noting, had other members.
-
In the 1980s, in Brasilia, Flávio and Fê Lemos, together with Dinho Ouro Preto and other musicians, founded Capital Inicial. The band continues on the road to this day.
