The Grammy Awards, the main American music award, will take place this Sunday and will be broadcast in Brazil. The award, which highlights Beyoncé’s record and leads Anitta to nomination for revelation of the year, will be held tonight at the Crypto.com Arena, in Los Angeles (USA) and, in addition to the trophies, will present several performances to the public.
The event will be officially broadcast on the TNT pay channel and also on the HBO Max streaming platform, starting at 21:30, with a presentation by actress Ana Furtado.
Confirmed shows include performances from Harry Styles, Lizzo, Bad Bunny, Mary J. Blige, Brandi Carlile, Luke Combs, Steve Lacy, Sam Smith and Kim Petras.
As for the awards dispute, Beyoncé and Jay-Z reach an impressive milestone of 88 nominations in their careers. The record shared by a couple is unprecedented in awards history, and was achieved after Beyoncé and Jay-Z were nominated in nine and five categories, respectively, this year.
Other highlights of the award are rapper Kendrick Lamar with eight nominations, singers Adele and Brandi Carlile with seven, Harry Styles with six nominations and Taylor Swift featured in four categories.
But, for Brazilian fans, the most important record is Anitta’s nomination in the Best New Artist category.
The Brazilian singer will have one of the fiercest disputes of the evening, and with completely different artists, including Italian rock band Måneskin and British indie band Wet Leg.
