“I won’t dissemble that it was easy for me”: Asya Reznik about filming erotic scenes and working with Alexander Petrov

In “Naughty” you play in tandem with Alexander Petrov. Did you know each other before?

No, we didn’t know Sasha before this project. And it’s great to have this opportunity! I am very grateful to him for this experience.

Is it difficult to act in an erotic drama? We know that usually at this moment there is a whole team behind the scenes, but still the genre is not typical for Russian films.

There is a whole team behind any frame, and this picture is no exception. I do not associate the complexity of shooting with the popularity of the genre. Conventionally, if this is a comedy familiar to the audience, this does not mean at all that it will be easy to act in it. I will not dissemble and say that this work was given to me simply – if only because it was my first experience of filming sex scenes in principle. Here I want to say a big thank you to the whole team and Sasha himself – thanks to them, everything went as delicately and positively as possible. It must be understood that this is part of the profession, and such scenes can be found in any genre. Therefore, I would not focus on this and consider them something supernatural.

By what criteria do you understand – yes, this is the project in which I want to act?

It seems to me that I am just beginning to understand and build these criteria for myself. Of course, they can change over time – quite recently I thought that I would agree to any roles for the sake of experience, but now I don’t think so (laughing). Of course, in an ideal world, it is important that there is a director with whom you are interested to work, whom you trust and want to create a joint story. To have an experienced partner, a good script, a worthy role that I would like to live and bring to life – and it doesn’t matter if it’s main or secondary. While everything happens intuitively, something “its own” responds in each project.

Does your husband Ilya (approx. Ilya Aksenov, director) give you professional advice?

I would say that Ilya is a “professional husband” (laughing). First of all, he is my dear person, and I am very grateful to him for his support and faith in me. Despite his busy schedule and difficult projects, he always helps me recover from difficult shooting days. And of course, if I need some professional advice, I can always turn to him for help.

It is believed that each role opens up new qualities in the actor. Did the heroine of “Naughty” Elya bring something new to your character?

Not much time has passed since the end of filming, and I would like to watch my heroine from the side for a longer time. But Elya and I are of the same zodiac sign – Taurus – and both are very stubborn. She reminded me how important it is to always listen to yourself, trust your intuition, and not discount your thoughts and feelings.

Did you have any jokes during filming? Or some words, expressions that are understandable only to those who worked on the site?

I can’t imagine my life without humor at all, so, of course, we constantly laughed on the set. Some general jokes appeared with the assistant for actors, make-up artists, costume designers – we started every day with laughter. One of my favorites: I did not shoot with Sasha Petrov, but with Serkan Petrov (laughing). So Serkan Bolat made his way here too.
