With over 5 million active followers Tick tock and nearly 3 million inside Instagramthe youngster has been an internet phenomenon since April 2021, when he went viral with a video pranking his father.

knowing that the Your Joe, like the father already known on the web, doesn’t like mistakes in Portuguese at all, he pretended to say a wrong word and waited for his reaction. The first video has 8 million views, but some of the post-game videos already have more than 24 million.

“It changed my life completely, in fact. Both financially, mentally and personally. It stopped being a game and became a profession,” says Matheus of the effect of the videos, in an interview with Stadium.

Before all of this happened, she had one of the hardest times of her life. “My brother was an event producer and I was always very communicative, very party oriented. And then, at the age of 18, I started working with that, to be a ‘promoter’ for some parties,” she recalls. he.

Matheus worked from Thursday to Sunday and spent his early mornings away from home in the nightclubs Rio de Janeirowhere he was born and raised. “He discovered Himself, inside pandemicwith the events market completely at a standstill, I lost all my work,” he explains.

On top of that, his father had discovered cancer. “He was very weak from a surgery he had just had. It was a time when everyone was out of work and also without health insurance.”

Matheus says he and his family pooled what they had and took out several loans to pay for his surgery. Your Joe. Indebted to the bank and with no job prospects, things began to change at that time.

“Just about the time we were in debt, that’s when I went viral and started ‘posting’ [vídeos com campanhas publicitárias]. This is surreal, I never imagined doing this and it was like there was a divine sign that said ‘go there and do this ‘trolling’, you will make money and everything will be fine,'” she says.

Subsequently, the influencer finished paying for his father’s operation and paid off his debts. “My life went from hell to heaven. I paid off my debts and became a millionaire,” jokes Matheus.

Millionaire but the same

Despite calling himself a millionaire, Matteo maintains a life very similar to the one lived before all the success. She bought an apartment in the same building where she lived with her parents, to be close to them, and tries to maintain the same cycle of friendships she’s always had.

“It bores me a lot to make new friends. Especially in this environment, which is a medium of great interest, a lot of superficiality. So, I really appreciate taking my friends away from school, who are the ones I’ve always had,” he explains.

The influencer confesses that he is afraid to know “who likes Matheus in real life and Matheus in videos”. “Even to relate to someone I’m already a little behind.” [Penso] ‘Would this person like me if I didn’t have many followers?’. These are things that I think cross everyone’s mind and just ‘pop’ out of nowhere,” she muses.

It reinforces that she considers her family “her foundation” and what she always tries to focus on – something that is clear in her videos. Seu Zé usually appears in commercials too, but Matteo he says it’s all very organic.

“Actually, it’s all very natural. I don’t write anything,” she says. “I consume a lot of videos on Tick tock. I look at a lot of stuff, so I get ideas there, having references. But basically there is no script, I wake up, I think about what I’m going to do today, I do it, I record it, I edit it and I publish it”.

Even your father’s public success Matteo he could not foresee: “It was a discovery for everyone. For me, for my mother, for my brother, for other relatives”.

“My father was always very closed off. He had very few friends. He doesn’t drink, he doesn’t go out. So this side of him, and revealing to people who he is, is a surprise for everyone,” he says. “Although he is a stressed boy in the videos, he is a nice father, present, cultured, nice, he treats people well. He can be seen in the videos”.

Hello Bonino?

Even before becoming famous, Matheus already had a big dream: to enter the Big Brother Brazil. “Look, I’ve been invited to many reality shows, but only the BBB who hasn’t called yet and is the only one I would definitely go to,” she reveals.

Although I haven’t received a call from yet Cutehe already has an idea of how he would behave in reality: “If someone argued with me, I would cry, for sure. I’m pretty silly for such things. But I think I would be a very real person. I would be no different from what I show.”

“I kind of like things my way, so I think that might get in the way of me at home. But I think it would be cool. If people like me in videos, I’d like them at home, because it’s the same thing,” she adds.

Matheus still jokes that his main plan for the future is to become an exBBB, but after thinking about it for a while, she says she has bigger dreams. “Television, maybe more theater. I like acting.”

“Actually, my biggest goal, if they say ‘what do you want to do?’ it was having a program and presenting it. I would be very satisfied because it’s something that doesn’t have a script. It’s me there who improvises and I like it: to improvise, “she concludes.
