Levi’s revives its own history in the new Fall / Winter 2022 season

With a history of 149 years, it is no surprise that Levi’s still has something to draw new inspiration from and is not afraid to revive nostalgic memories that are becoming current trends. This is definitely true of Levi’s Fall / Winter 2022 collection, which is called “Archives Reinvented”. This brings to the famous Levi’s cuts from the 80’s, 90’s and zero years, which intersect with all the components of the autumn series of 2022 and form a major part of Levi’s inspiration for this season.

Fashion game

Exaggerated proportions and cuts became another great inspiration for the second half of 2022. After the last two years, when we didn’t get much out, we are all back in the world again and we enjoy playing (not only) with clothes. It is on this joyful emotion that Levi’s builds new cuts and styles to encourage everyone to experiment with their own style and push its boundaries. The new collection allows everyone to creatively capture shapes, silhouettes and textures in their own way. Whether you enjoy minimalist tops and oversized pants or prefer to spin it, it’s up to your taste and style. Despite the acknowledged nostalgia, the redesigned models from Levi’s archives are modern and set current trends. It is a collection that is hard not to fall in love with. Combined with Levi’s icons, you will discover an infinite number of variations. And the best part is that you will still enjoy it.

Women’s collection

The cuts of the women’s collection continue the trends that were evident last season – they are visibly looser and the proportions of the models are generally enhanced and generous. Denim references to the 80’s, 90’s and zero years can be found in a wide range of models. Baggy Dad, which features a hip cut with a low waist and a very loose crotch with a slightly tapering leg. These are “baggy” jeans, but it definitely doesn’t take away from them. In the same spirit, Baggy Boot also play with the cut, which has the same waist cut as Baggy Dad, but a straight leg all the way down. In order for the offer of looser denim cuts to be complete, you will also find the new XL Flood in the women’s collection – pleated nineties wide trousers that will stack around your ankles and Mom Jeans from the 80’s, which play with the original cut of this Levi’s model.

Not just denim

Even outside the denim, the main motif of the new collection is practicality and comfort – we present Baggy Surplus and Dad Utility. The first pants have the same aesthetics as Baggy Dad, but are made of cotton twill. They also have a more balloon cut and a better fitted waist, so you can wear them high or lower on the hips. Dad Utilities are inspired by classic work trousers with their straight pants and informal charm. Women’s tops also acquire exaggerated proportions thanks to a mix of mini and oversized, so it’s where everyone finds between these two extremes. Drawing on the late 90’s and turn of the millennium, the Pretty Tops retro line is full of fluffy sleeves, square necklines and floral patterns. Other features of tops inspired by the 90’s are, for example, turtlenecks that reveal a navel, one-shouldered tank tops or an iconic denim corset.

Men’s collection

Levi’s autumn men’s collection for 2022 draws inspiration mainly from the history of the brand, which it is remelting to the present day. Denim cuts focus on straighter and more relaxed silhouettes. Levi’s will present a new straight-cut jeans specifically for this season called the 50s Straight, which combines the wider trousers typical of the 50’s and the aesthetics of the 80’s. In addition to the denim pieces, it is important to mention the new color variations of the popular Levi’s XX Chino, including corduroy versions. These fine twill pants made of a pleasant fabric, which acquires an even more cool texture over the years, can also be found in the form of shorts.

Gold Tab Collection

A comfortable nostalgia that keeps its refined style – this is how the new collection for Autumn / Winter 2022 called Levi’s Gold Tab could be characterized. It is full of authentic Levi’s spirit and plays with the aesthetics of Northern California and its unique lifestyle. At first glance, it is evident that the main value of this collection is comfort and total ease. It is a mix of vintage sweatshirts, fleece jackets, T-shirts and loose tank tops, including classic outdoor models such as men’s Anorak. The graphics and colors used in the collection, as well as its entire appearance, drew inspiration from the 70’s and 80’s. The logos resemble iconic locations in Northern California, while the colors are a mix of bright base tones along with darker earth tones. The collection is designed to be worn anywhere you want to feel good and stylish, it is a “wear-anywhere relax” with the charm of vintage cuts, which everyone will appreciate with a fashionable look and love for originality.
