Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, Naomi Campbell and others at the Louis Vuitton show in Paris

_______________________________

This afternoon, as part of the Men’s Fashion Week in Paris, a Louis Vuitton show was held. The House again dedicated this fashion show to the memory of former menswear creative director Virgil Abloh, who died at the end of 2021 due to cancer. It is not yet known who will take his place – the media and fashion experts name, among others, such candidates as Martin Rose, Grace Wales Bonner and Jerry Lorenzo. But according to rumors, the spring-summer 2023 collection will be the last one created by Virgil’s team according to his ideas and sketches. And then the management of the company will have to appoint a successor.

The scenery this time was built in the image and likeness of a playground with incomprehensible designs and in bright colors. The show opened with the University of Florida Orchestra at Tallahassee Marching 100, a post-modern scholarship program that Abloh founded to support black creative students. Also during the show, Kendrick Lamar sang from the bench in the front row, and at the end, while the models carried the rainbow flag down the runway, a reference to Abloh’s debut show for Lous Vuitton Menswear in Paris, which took place at Men’s Fashion Week four years ago , he sang: “Long live Virgil”.

On the catwalk, we saw everything that the designer gave Louis Vuitton for three years of his work: men’s pleated skirts, floor-length down jackets, coats embroidered with flowers and bright leather jackets. Abloh’s “children’s” ideas also found their place – colored hats with strings of colored cubes, paper airplanes on formal suits, bright suitcases and backpacks with loudspeakers and speakers.

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, Naomi Campbell, French actor Omar Sy, rapper J Balvin, Kendrick Lamar and other celebrities and influencers came to see the collection this time.
