No, they don’t age! Things that don’t add age – debunk the myth

It’s funny, in the era of fashionable permissiveness, you can still find the autocratic advice from the series “Never wear a leopard” on the Internet! or “Blondes have red lipstick!”. Who said? In fact, you can wear anything, the question is whether we would be able to find our ideal style, color and combinations – and we can!

No, they don’t age! Things that don’t add age – debunk the myth

Let’s agree right now: we always oppose stereotypes in everything – in fashion, makeup, hairstyles, careers, parenthood, musical tastes and the list goes on. Let’s put it this way: ban the bans! And even more, we do not support when collections or clothing brands are called “dated”. For example, we’ll leave those ripped jeans to teenagers, but this tweed suit will replace crop tops if you’re already a college graduate. Boring! Somewhere shakes her head in disapproval Vera Wang, who at 73 wears minis, which not all girls dare to wear. And it looks tre-sa-yu-sche!

Today we decided to talk about those stereotypes in clothes, which for some reason fit a priori into the wardrobe of a particular age. In the fashionable field, there are things that seem to “age”. We want to take a look at anyone who thinks these super stylish finds add a few decades – we’re sure they just don’t know how to wear them!

High waist pants

If your mother has such a couple in photographs of her youth, this does not mean that she is contraindicated to you. Most likely, the stereotype arose because of slouches – a special type of pants, which can sometimes look baggy and “land” on the figure. But if you choose a straight cut and a classic silhouette, errors are excluded.

scarf

Something, excuse me? Does anyone else class a headscarf over their hair as anti-trend? Irina Shayk, Bella Hadid and the Kardashian sisters stare disapprovingly through the screen. Silk and satin bandanas fit perfectly into the new French chic and won’t give way to other hair accessories. So a scarf (made of quality materials and with a trendy print) – to be!

Black color

In art schools, children are often told that technically there is no black in nature, black is the absence of light. And, since in reality it is almost 100% impossible, young artists make up an analogue of black from dark brown, dark gray, burgundy – in general, other shades. We use the same hack to put together a wardrobe and remember that it’s not black that gets old, but shoddy stretched cardigans and jeans with worn knees.

Velvet

The stereotype, to be honest, is understandable: in times of velvet shortage, it was used as an indicator of prosperity, condition. From interesting design to kitsch, it was a stone’s throw away, and that’s how vulgar images turned out. Total velvet, of course, this jumpsuit! But the material itself is not dangerous, and in the right “doses” it looks almost luxurious. And the games of textures and the experimentation of materials are only the revelation of a lively spirit and a creative approach. The limits are in the head, not in the legs!
